Are you ready to make a positive difference for thousands of
children and young people every year.
Working through our Client, Childline, you will be part of
an incredible organisation that supports hundreds of thousands of children all
over the UK every year, many of whom want to talk at night while their other
supports are not available.
As a Childline Practitioner (Twilight) you will deliver this
vital service alongside a committed and dedicated team who will share your
values of supporting children and young people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To
ensure effective high quality service delivery through supervision of the
live and virtual shifts, directly answering contacts and assessing risk
presented by children.
- To
provide effective supervision and coaching to peers and Childline
Volunteer Counsellors during the shifts within the Childline base or
through virtual e-mail shifts.
- To
respond directly to contacts from children and young people during
overnight and peak hours, including the completion of risk assessments,
and advise Volunteers on appropriate safeguarding action.
At present we are hiring for 28hrs and 17.5hrs
contracts. Salary: £34,582 to £38,425
(pro-rata) plus 10.5% shift allowance, and £200 home working allowance if
opting for hybrid working.
You will work a hybrid rota which includes a consistent
balance of daytime, twilight and night shifts across a 6-week pattern which
includes weekend working one in every three weeks (or one in six weeks for
those on 17.5 hour contracts). There is built in time for extended weekends and
a third of the working days can be done from home.
