Are you looking for a Quantity Surveyor role? Interested in working for a leading contractor that deliver high quality new build projects?

VANRATH are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to work for a leading Main Contractor on new build residential and refurbishment projects.

The Ideal Person:

  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service skills for client satisfaction
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work across multiple projects.
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Computer literacy and confidence using office and project management software, AutoCAD
  • Understanding of engineering science, construction and technology
  • Understanding of current building regulations.

Overview of Role:

  • Measure quantities
  • Agree accurate rates with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Appoint and agree suitable lead-in times to enable smooth transfer of the package to site managers
  • Accurate measuring and recording of work packages onsite
  • Complete due diligence activities on potential development land prior to purchase
  • Attend site progress meetings and technical meetings as required
  • Ensure subcontractors are appointed in the appropriate manner with attention to health and safety requirements
  • Arrange statutory and utility quotations and appointments to ensure critical programme dates are met
  • Maintain, budgets and as built cost schedules
  • Produce cost forecast reports and valuation submissions.
  • Appraisals of potential development sites
