My client is an award winning
locally owned transport business specialising with Heavy Haulage and Abnormal Cargo and Machinery
Transport. The carry customer cargo throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and
Internationally using their modern fleet of 10 trucks and 30 trailers.
Due to continued business growth
and planned expansion they seek to recruit a full-time permanent Junior Transport
Planner to contribute to the day to day running of the business. This diverse
and rewarding role has the following responsibilities: -

Communicating
with Customers, Suppliers, Drivers and other third parties

Assist in
managing email enquiries to/from existing and new customers.

Accepting
and dealing with customer’s orders, tracking and providing customers with
updates.

Ensuring
all the required information has been received and has been communicated with accurate
data input onto in-house system.

Arranging
sub-contractors.
-
Booking
Ferries and recording shipments.
-
Sending
drivers required information and helping with problems.
-
Helping the
Fleet Manager with all maintenance related duties.

Assisting
Senior Planners with route planning, driver allocation
-
Handle POD’s,
CMRS and all paperwork within Transport Office.

Completing customs
paperwork, such as Transits & TSS.
Candidates should have a genuine
interest / knowledge if the Transport Sector. Previous office administration or
Transport Planning experience preferred but not essential. You will have excellent
written and verbal communication skills and be competent in using MS Office,
Excel and Outlook.
You’ll be good at multi-tasking,
have an eye for detail, be able to use your initiative and enjoy working to
deadlines. You must have a ‘can-do’ attitude. Driving licence and own car an
advantage.
On the job training will be
provided to increase your skillset and knowledge. Opportunity for career
progression to the role of a Transport Planner.
Client is offering a starting
salary to £25,000 to £30,000, dependent of skills and experience. (negotiable).
Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm. 28 days holiday, company pension, uniform, Smart
offices based near Banbridge, free parking.
