ST MARY'S: FAITH IN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY
The Department for the Economy (DfE) is seeking to appoint 4 new members to the Governing Body of St Mary's University College, Belfast. St Mary's is a small, specialist and distinctive institution that is highly focused on its mission; it is high performing and has an international outlook.
People with a disability and those from minority ethnic communities are currently under-represented on DfE Boards and applications from members of these groups would be particularly welcome.
The appointment begins on 8th February 2025. Members of the Governing Body do not receive any remuneration. However, they are eligible to claim allowances, at Northern Ireland Civil Service rates, for travel and subsistence costs necessarily incurred on official business.
The Governing Body meets at least four times a year. Successful applicants are expected to attend all meetings and will be invited to sit on sub committees during their period of appointment which currently stands at 5 years. They may also be required to attend external functions as representatives of the Governing Body and/or College.
