Assistant Site Manager (Commercial)

Hays NI are pleased to be representing a prominent Irish Construction Contractor, specialising in the retail, commercial & residential sectors with extensive experience in both traditional and design & build contracts. The company have built an enviable industry name on their specialist team consistently delivering high quality service on various medium-large scale projects for high-profile clients, which has led to a high level of repeat business & continuous bid success. Due to ongoing requirements on a major commercial scheme based in Belfast, your new company now have an immediate requirement for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager until the end of 2024.

Your new role
Due to high levels of repeat business, the company has a requirement for an Assistant Site Manager to join them on key commercial building schemes in Greater Belfast. You will be reporting to the Site Manager, assisting with on-site operations day-to-day, ensuring high productivity and liaising with subcontractors. You will ensure that health & safety protocol is adhered to and assist with toolbox talks and daily progress reports. This is an excellent opportunity to gain employment with an expanding contractor, initially on a temporary basis, with potential for long-term works upon successful completion of assignment.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role, you must have relevant experience of working within site teams, preferably within fast-paced commercial schemes. You will be a self-starter, with a can-do attitude and a good level of organisation. You will possess a high level of communication and be responsible for ensuring the site team are briefed daily on the scheduled works programme. You will be able to motivate the team to ensure all works are carried out promptly and all reports are addressed. You must hold a CSR (Site Supervisor), CSCS or SMSTS certification.

You will be based full-time in Belfast, with no UK travel & no reason to leave NI in the immediate future. With an extremely busy orderbook for the rest of 2024, there may be opportunity for further, long-term works after the initial contract. In return, the contractor is offering an attractive hourly rate.
