Slemish College wishes to recruit a
talented Chef to provide outstanding food for over 1000 students on a daily basis. With attractive working hours and
school holidays, this role would be extremely attractive to an experienced Chef
who seeks a better work life balance. A Chef that is seeking a challenge, but
in a very different environment.
A Chef that brings new ideas and
innovations in how food can be served in a School environment. The College is
looking for someone who will lead, manage and motivate a team of staff as they
seek to provide the highest quality catering service for our students.
They will manage the administration and
finances of the refectory/canteen and ensure the highest standards in hygiene,
and health and safety are maintained. They will also be required to serve
parents and guests at key school functions throughout the school calendar.
As the Head Chef, the ideal candidate
will have a successfully led a busy kitchen, with experience of leading a team
and managing the administrative aspects of a kitchen. They will have examples
of how they have created a thriving and successful working environment.
The
ideal candidate would also:

a passion for food and customer service.
•Be
skilled at preparing food and introducing new and creative menus.
•Be
excellent at managing and communicating with a team.
•Be
financially and commercially astute and ensure margins are maintained.
•Have
the ability to work under pressure and to be adaptable.
•Have
a safety-first mindset
•Be
able to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving
