They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager to join the Senior Management Team. This is a critical and exciting role with clear career progression to Director for the right candidate.

Salary & Benefits

  • Annual Appraisal
  • 23 days holidays plus 10 statutory
  • Option of working from home one day a week

The Person

  • Qualified Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) (essential).
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA) (preferred).
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in practice.
  • Proven excellent exam record.
  • Managerial experience in a similar role.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills.

The Role
This is a critical and exciting role, reporting to the Managing Director. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will have sound financial technical skills, an ability to manage a diverse portfolio whilst offering creative solutions for the future growth and success of the business.

Corporate Tax

Advisory Responsibilities:

  • CPOS: Engaging in and managing company CPOS.
  • Restructures: Providing strategic advice and execution for corporate restructures.
  • Capital Allowance Reviews: Conducting detailed reviews and analyses of capital allowances.
  • Groups with Foreign Entities: Advising and managing tax issues related to multinational groups.
  • Share Sales and Acquisitions: Facilitating and advising on share sales and acquisitions.
  • Trade & Asset Sales and Acquisitions: Managing the tax aspects of trade and asset transactions.
  • S.198 Elections: Handling Section 198 elections.
  • Enquiries Including R&D: Addressing inquiries and providing support for R&D tax matters.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Corporation Tax Return Reviews: Conducting thorough reviews of corporate tax returns.
  • Group Relief Claims: Managing and submitting group relief claims.
  • R&D Claims: Preparing and drafting narratives for SME and RDEC R&D claims.

Personal Tax

Advisory Responsibilities:

  • IHT Advice and Planning: Providing inheritance tax advice and strategic planning.
  • Remuneration Strategies: Developing and advising on effective remuneration strategies.
  • Enquiries – Aspect and Full: Handling comprehensive tax inquiries.
  • Statutory Residency: Advising on and managing issues related to statutory residency.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Estates: Liaising with solicitors and completing IHT400 forms.
  • Personal Tax Compliance: Managing tax compliance for individuals with investment income, rentals, and I&Es.
  • Trusts: Administering and ensuring compliance for trusts (2 with income, 1 with capital only).
  • Personal Tax Return Reviews: Conducting reviews of personal tax returns.

VAT

Advisory Responsibilities:

  • Ad Hoc VAT Advice: Providing VAT advice to staff and clients as needed.
  • Advice on Property Transactions: Offering specialized VAT advice related to property transactions.
  • VAT Inspections: Managing and conducting VAT inspections.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Review of Partial Exemption Calculations: Reviewing and ensuring accuracy in partial exemption calculations.

Payroll

Advisory Responsibilities:

  • Enquiries & PAYE Checks: Handling inquiries and conducting PAYE checks.
  • PAYE Reviews: Conducting thorough reviews of PAYE processes.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing PAYE: Managing and overseeing PAYE compliance.
  • Liaising with Staff and Clients: Addressing PAYE-related queries and liaising with relevant parties
