Role Overview: As a Human Resources Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing effective and efficient HR services to support the achievement of our organisation's strategic priorities. Working closely with the HR Manager, you will provide expert advice and support to managers on a range of employment and HR-related matters, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional advice and support to managers on employee relations issues, including discipline, grievances, capability, and complaints investigations.
  • Build strong relationships with line managers to provide business support and ensure the effective delivery of HR processes.
  • Take a lead role in absence management, proactively engaging with line managers to case manage absenteeism effectively.
  • Implement recruitment and selection procedures, chair panels, and coordinate onboarding processes.
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects and initiatives allocated by the HR Manager.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including trade unions, to ensure a positive and collaborative approach.
  • Participate in cross-departmental working groups and provide input to committee and board reports.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service, quality, and accuracy in all HR processes.
  • Maintain and update organisational structures and HR databases accurately.
  • Drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement in line with the organisation's performance management system.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CIPD Associate Membership or actively working towards it.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in handling HR policies, procedures, and processes related to employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and absence management.
  • Sound knowledge of NI employment legislation.
  • Full current driving license or access to suitable transport.

Desirable Criteria:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in HR roles as outlined above.
  • Experience with HR software such as PAMS.

  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Adaptability and positive responsiveness to change.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Sound conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information effectively.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
