POSITION: Facilities & Assets Coordinator
LOCATION: Lisburn
HOURLY RATE: £21.28
HOURS: 36.25 hours per week, Mon-Fri.
DURATION: 6 months initially with possibility for
extension.
On
behalf of our client, we are seeking a Facilities
& Assets Coordinator to
support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of a ‘fit for purpose’ estate in
line with the facilities strategy that ensures compliance with relevant
legislation and regulations, and supports the effective and efficient delivery
of the Facilities function.
Main
Responsibilities/Duties:
1. To support the Facilities Manager in the implementation of a facilities
strategy that will deliver an estate that is ‘fit for purpose’, in line with
operational needs.
2. To work with managers and contractors to ensure compliance with the
relevant statutory obligations including health and safety and environmental
legislation, in the delivery of facilities management.
3. To assist the Facilities Manger to develop and implement the annual
Facilities budget in a timely and effective manner to enable the effective
delivery of identified Estates and Assets needs and achieve an annual breakeven
position.
4. To proactively deliver major and minor works, reactive and planned
maintenance programmes in a cost effective, structured and timely fashion.
5. To ensure compliance with financial and procurement rules and ensure
good governance in the facilities budget and management of contractors.
6. To support the Facilities Manager in ensuring regulatory compliance,
managing risk and value for money; and the production of an annual property
asset management plan.
7. To prepare business cases, tenders and quotations in line with financial
and procurement regulations, policies and procedures and corporate timescales.
8. To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of organisational policies and
procedures at a corporate and local level.

Criteria:
Applicants must, by the closing date
for applications, have:
Experience/Qualifications
1.) Possess a minimum of a level 5
qualification (e.g. HND level qualification) or above in a relevant subject
e.g. Energy and Building Services Engineering; Facilities Management;
Surveying.
AND
2a.) Have at least 2 years’ relevant
post qualification experience within a Facilities/Estates role.
OR
2b.) Have at least 5 years’ relevant
experience within a Facilities/Estates role.
3.) Possess a full, current UK driving licence or have access to a
form of transport which enables them to fulfil the full requirements of the
job.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
1. Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering effective solutions
for an facilities/estates function in 2 of the following 3 areas:
a. Mechanical & Electrical
b. Construction
c. Cost monitoring and control
2. Demonstrable experience of successfully managing estates/facilities
contracts.
3. Demonstrable experience in the use of architectural design software.
4. Can demonstrate:
a. excellent planning, communication and organisational ability;
b. ability to work under pressure of multiple deadlines;
c. strong interpersonal and influencing skills;
d. a strong customer orientation.
Desirable
Criteria:
•
Possess a qualification in Health and
Safety such as the NEBOSH Certificate.
•
Possess a project management
qualification e.g. Prince2.
•
Have experience of working within
local government or the public sector.
•
Knowledge of NEC form of contracts.
