Building Maintenance Officer (Public Sector)

VANRATH are recruiting a Building Maintenance Officer for a large public body for a period of 9 months initially, with the possibility of it being extended.

Remuneration:
c£39,186, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

The Ideal Person

  • Applicants must hold a relevant Construction / Property Maintenance related third level qualification*
  • Applicants must provide specific and personal examples of having at least 6 months relevant experience in the following areas:

  • Working with computerised information systems, to produce management reports.
  • Leading, planning and developing projects/programmes within a service area.
  • Experience of procurement of goods and services.
  • Complying with Health and Safety operational requirements in a public facing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of building relationships internally and externally, within the delivery of a service or function.

  • Possess a full, current driving licence, which enables you to drive in Northern Ireland and a vehicle available for official business, or have access to a form of transport, which enables you to meet the requirements of the post in full.

OR

  • Applicants must have a minimum 5 GCSE’s (Grades A-C) or equivalent including English Language and a numeracy-based subject; AND Applicants must demonstrate by way of specific and personal examples one years’ experience in a-e listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the effective operational management of all processes and procedures in relation to building maintenance and repairs service of organisation properties delivered by in house teams and third parties.
  • This will include all structural, preventative and reactive maintenance planning across organisation properties and assets. It will include emergency works that may arise and technical support functions for the service.
  • Building Maintenance planning, programme and delivery of works across the district (including in house teams and third party services)
  • Property Asset Statutory compliance and inspection planning, programming and works delivery (e.g. Cold and Hot Water systems, Asbestos, Mechanical and electrical systems, CDM, Energy management, etc)
  • Contract management and annual order management
  • Production and updating of property/asset drawings and maps
  • Management of a computer based inspection and workload record keeping systems for all organisation assets
  • Plant/Equipment replacement, procurement and disposal
  • Day-to day management of Off Street Car Park, Public toilet provision, and Depot Stores, including consumables Procurement
