Deputy Service Manager - Hostel

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Deputy Service Manager - Hostel on a permanent full-time basis, based in Belfast City Centre with a salary of £34,000 per year with a new staff benefit package under review.

Our client is one of Belfast's most established and well-known hostels, offering exceptional support to male service users with a wide range of mental health illnesses and addictions. While this role offers a Monday - Friday shift pattern, there will be an expectation to cover evenings and weekends outside of this in which time off in lieu will apply.

Responsibilities:

With a full copy of the Job Duties and Person Spec available on request, you will:

• Work side-by-side with the Service Manager, delivering effective and efficient management of the service, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the hostel, providing exceptional support to the service user group.

Requirements:

• Third-level qualification and two years' experience in a similar setting OR an HND in a relevant subject with three years' experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience supervising/managing staff in a similar setting.
• Experienced in working with service users who display complex needs, challenging behaviours, mental health illness and addictions.
• Ability to coach and mentor staff and to liaise effectively with other service providers in the sector.
• High levels of communication skills; verbal and written and the ability to display empathy.
• NISCC registered (or agree to register before commencement of employment).
• Fully flexible to cover shifts that will include evenings and weekends.
