Work hours: 13 hour shifts over a 7-day rota (2 or 3 shifts per week)

Belfast Central Mission (BCM) is an award-winning leading charity with social care projects and social enterprises across Northern Ireland. With over 300 staff and volunteers delivering services across Northern Ireland to support people at their point of need.

Kirk House is “Housing with Care” facility in which independence, freedom of choice, self-esteem and dignity are respected and promoted. Residents are supported to maintain links with their family and local community; and the level of care each receives is tailored to meet their individual needs.

Kirk House is situated in landscaped grounds, it comprises of 42 individual flatlets, four of which are designed for couples and two for disabled residents. One wing provides safe and supportive accommodation for nine residents with dementia, providing a pioneering approach to dementia design with a homely feel to make residents more comfortable, independent and reduce confusion.

Your new role
You will support the management team with daily operations, managing and mentoring staff, and the provision of individual care to residents. You will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and act as a liaison between staff, residents, and families, addressing concerns and facilitating effective communication.

You will be responsible for ensuring high quality care is being delivered whilst monitoring resource allocation, schedules, and upholding the care home's standards and policies. In the absence of the management team, the team leader will act as the responsible person on shift.

• QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience caring for older people in a residential or community setting
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate as part of a team
