Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Human Resources Officer

Job Purpose:

To assist the Senior HR Officer in providing a high quality Human Resources (HR) service to the Organisation, its staff and other customers.

The post-holder will be initially based in the Retained Recruitment I Job Evaluation Team and carry out the administrative duties of the post, in line with the procedures of the office whilst adhering to best practice principles. This will include processing actions related to Retained Recruitment and Job Evaluation within the appropriate timescales.

The team is responsible for the provision of professional advice to Managers, staff and clients in relation to all aspects of retained recruitment and job evaluation processes.

Job Description:

  • To provide professional advice to managers I staff or client groups and throughout the organisation on all aspects related to recruitment and evaluation processes.
  • To provide assistance to the Senior Human Resources officer in the completion of their duties.
  • To ensure that the appropriate procedures in respect of recruitment/evaluation activity are implemented in an accurate and timely manner
  • Receive and resolve first level queries regarding retained recruitment/job evaluation issues from managers, staff and client organisations ensuring that any blockages or delays in the system are identified and cascaded in a timely manner to the Senior Team.
  • Provide administrative support and attend relevant HR meetings as required
  • To provide administrative support to the Senior HR team in the completion and maintenance of all files and correspondence including issuing approved corporate communications.
  • To provide excellent customer service in line with service level agreements.
  • To assist with the compilation of reports and ensure information systems for both recruitment and job evaluation are kept fully up to date, to facilitate the production of regular and ad hoc reports from the relevant systems.
  • To oversee the administrative elements of the retained recruitment/job evaluation function including issuing letters to relevant parties as appropriate, issuing documentation to panel members and issuing outcome letters following the conclusion of the relevant processes.
  • To provide administrative support for the Senior Team as required which includes preparing agendas, papers, minutes and following up on action points.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of Policies and Procedures, taking into account current recognised best practice.
  • To contribute to the development of training materials and resources and when appropriate assist with the delivery of training in relation to retained recruitment/evaluation processes
  • In conjunction with Senior Managers participate in the investigation of queries or complaints to inform the response.
  • Establish, maintain and develop close working relationships with staff at all levels throughout the HSC
  • Participate in working groups as required.

Experience & Qualifications

1a. 2 x A Levels OR equivalent OR higher qualification AND 18 months relevant* experience to include at least one year in a Human Resource environment

OR

1b. Have a minimum of three years' relevant* experience to include one year's experience in a Human Resources environment

* Relevant experience is defined as working in a HR Office environment carrying out clerical I administrative duties such as filing, preparing letters, dealing with customers.

  1. Be computer literate and have a minimum of one years' work based experience of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel

Skills/Abilities

  1. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively to meet the needs of the post.
  2. Demonstrate an ability to use initiative and work independently or as part of a team.
  3. Demonstrate an ability to prioritise work in order to meet tight deadlines.
  4. Ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions
