Eminent biochemist Dr David Gibson has been appointed lecturer in stratified medicine at the University of Ulster.
He will be based at C-TRIC, (Clinical Translational Research and Innovation Centre) at the Altnagelvin Hospital campus in Derry~Londonderry.
With a particular interest in biomarker discovery, ‘personalised medicine’ and point of care technologies, Dr Gibson will manage research projects on inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Dr Gibson said the research could be used to aid early diagnosis and better treatment for patients.
