Training scheme fast tracks legal talent

4th September 2017

TWO ambitious school leavers have been selected for a scheme that fast tracks promising talent towards employment in the legal sector.

Brooke Wardlow and Sean McAdorey beat stiff competition to secure places on the intensive six-month programme at Allen & Overy’s (A&O) Belfast Support Services Centre.

Designed for school leavers, it offers experience of working in a fast-paced global business and supports trainees to gain an Institute of Leadership & Management qualification.

Developed by A&O, the bespoke scheme develops the core skills and competencies needed to gain accreditation as a Document Specialist and includes a placement at the firm’s London office.

Paula Feeney, Document Services Lead at Allen & Overy’s Support Service Centre in Belfast said: “We recognise the importance of degrees, but university education is not the only option for people with the right aptitude and raw skills to forge a rewarding career in the legal sector.”

Upon successful completion of the training programme, Brooke and Sean will have an opportunity to apply for roles alongside more than 50 staff in the Belfast Document Services team.
