Training academies are essential to employment for the next generation of beauty and aesthetics practitioners.
That was the message according to Medical Director at Woodford Medical, Dr Mervyn Patterson as he commended the training colleges and academies who entered the inaugural Beauty Excellence Awards, eight of which have been named as finalists.
The academies shortlisted are: Beauty Angel Academy, Dungannon; Doll Face House of Makeup, Cookstown; JS Hair Academy, Lisburn; KMK Advanced Beauty and Training School, Armagh; Olivia Muldoon Hair Academy, Dungannon; Pygment Training Academy, Lurgan; The Beauty School, Lurgan; Younique College, Lurgan.
They join over 80 other companies announced as finalists from across Northern Ireland in the hair, beauty and aesthetic industries. The winners will be announced on June 23 at the Crowne Plaza, Belfast.
Dr Patterson who sat on the independent judging panel said upstanding training academies are essential to ensure the proper delivery of treatments. He explained: “We are at a stage of information overload online, so consumers need to know they are getting treatments from reputable outlets who have all the required certificates and training by law.
“That’s where training colleges and academies come in, and they’re essential for the next generation of practitioners to gain employment throughout our aesthetics, hair and beauty industries.”
