BELFAST is buzzing with creativity, according to a leading educationalist.
Justin Edwards, assistant CEO and director of curriculum at Belfast Met, was speaking as the college hosted the inaugural TEDxBelfastMetropolitanCollege event.
Based on the theme ‘Igniting Innovation’ the event brought together a mix of people from sectors as diverse as education, IT and communications services, the creative industries, local government and the financial services sector.
TEDxBelfastMetropolitanCollege is independently organised and licensed by TED. It was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, `ideas worth spreading’.
Mr Edwards said: “Belfast is a city buzzing with ideas and creativity and TEDx is known the world over for local events which not only educate and entertain attendees but which also genuinely motivate and inspire them.”
TED is an international nonprofit organisation which started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds — technology, entertainment, design — but has since broadened its remit.
