Shooping Centre Signs Up Three High Profile Tenants

A SHOPPING centre in Ballymena has created 28 full and part-time jobs after signing a trio of new tenants.

Fairhill, situated in the heart of Co Antrim, now includes fashion retailers Tommy Hilfiger and Quiz, as well as music and games retailer, HMV. The new tenants supplement the 52 existing retailers, such as Debenhams, Marks and Spencer, H&M and Next.

Fairhill marketing and commercial manager Natalie Jackson said: “The three new tenants are a welcome addition to the existing stores and highlight our commitment to satisfying the needs of our local community.

“We have made considerable financial investment in the centre this year by completely refreshing our branding and website, hosting promotional events to drive footfall for our own retailers, and working with the Ballymena Chamber to encourage shoppers back into the wider town centre.

“Ballymena is a key location for travellers coming within a 40- minute radius from the town centre and we are positive that the new retailers will be an additional incentive for them to visit.”

The investment complements the broader development strategy, driven by private and public sector businesses in the borough of Ballymena.

Alan Stewart, president of Ballymena Borough Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “We are delighted to see new retailers opening in Ballymena, as it reinforces business confidence and strength in the area.

“Town centre shopping is not solely about retailing; customers also want to have a bite to eat, places to go and things to do, all within close proximity — and we as a Chamber are working hard to ensure their needs are met.

“Just like Fairhill, we too are planning additional incentives such as Small Business Saturday, which we know Ballymena shoppers will get behind — as our statistics show that the vast majority want to shop local.”
