South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is gearing up for this year’s Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week.
Led by the Department for the Economy, and taking place from April 26-30, the annual week-long celebration aims to raise the profile of apprenticeships across Northern Ireland.
Victoria Boyd, Training Programme Manager said: “Apprenticeship Week is a key event in the College calendar which allows us to share success stories from some of the 1100 apprentices who choose SERC to gain their Apprenticeship qualifications and 750 employers who work in partnership with SERC who offer apprenticeships in subjects ranging from Accountancy to Childcare, from Catering to Plumbing, from Fire and Security Systems to Pharmacy Services.
“This year, we’ve planned a series of virtual activities which will highlight what is on offer through SERC for young people considering the apprenticeship route and their parents, and for employers who want to grow their business for the future with an apprentice.”
In addition, the college will also have guest speakers from industry and Q&A sessions with apprentices and employers.
Victoria added: “The week will demonstrate the benefits of becoming an apprentice and showcase how apprenticeships can work to strengthen and grow businesses, communities and the wider economy during and beyond these challenging times.”
