THE outgoing Squadron Leader of the Red Arrows visited Belfast Met recently to speak to aeronautical engineering students about his experiences flying with the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team.

Ben Plank, former Red 8 Flight Lieutenant of the world famous aerial aerobatic crew, highlighted the importance of quality and safety in aircraft engineering.

Philip Boyd, aeronautical engineering lecturer at Belfast Met, said: “Hearing first-hand about the flying experience from those at the top of their game in the industry has been a real inspiration to our students who are pursuing careers in aeronautical engineering.”
