Mental health and wellbeing charity, Niamh (Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health) has proved that it practices what it preaches by achieving the highest standard possible in their recent Investors in People evaluation.
Niamh is the first organisation in Northern Ireland to be awarded Investors in People at the highest possible level – Gold – on their first assessment.
Niamh is the largest and longest established mental health and wellbeing charity in Northern Ireland and its vision is mental health and wellbeing for all.
Investors in People Specialist, Stephanie McCutcheon said, “To achieve Gold status as a result of a first Investors in People Assessment really is a significant achievement. It is extremely challenging to meet and highlights an organisation that demonstrates a forward thinking and expansive approach.”
“Niamh demonstrates a progressive approach to improvement through people and clear evidence that they are committed to attracting, supporting, recognising, developing and engaging with all its staff,” she added.
The team accepted the award at a special presentation ceremony in Belfast which celebrated the achievements of their dedicated staff members and acknowledged their contributions to improving mental health and wellbeing in a challenging environment.
Chief Executive, Professor Peter McBride said, “I am so proud of this achievement and delighted that the assessor made specific comment about the commitment and enthusiasm of our staff.”
Investors in People is a nationally recognised award that specialises in transforming business performance through people. At the heart of Investors in People is a framework of best practice that is outcome focused. Investors in People help manage change, engage with employees and fine-tune leadership capabilities.
Director of Carecall at Niamh, Katherine McDonald said: “I am delighted with the award because like IIP, we work with organisations to promote employee engagement. Carecall achieves mental wellbeing at work across the island of Ireland through counselling and a whole range of support programmes. It’s really great to be able to show that we do the things that we advise others to do.”
