THE University of Ulster has appointed Dr David Hassan as Professor of Sports Policy and Management.
Professor Hassan is a mem-ber of the Sport and Exercise Sciences Research Institute at Jordanstown.
A native of Feeny,Co Lon-donderry and a former pupil of St Columb’s College,Derry, Professor Hassan is best known internationally for his collaborative work with the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile,the world gov-erning body of motorsport, whilst locally his seminal re-search on Irish sport was hon-oured in 2009 by President of Ireland Mary McAleese.
