New Role for Glyn

24th November 2014

GLYN Roberts, chief executive of the Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association (NIIRTA) has been appointed as the new independent, non-executive, chair of Colleges Northern Ireland.

He said: “Our FE sector does a fantastic job in supporting local business and the economy as whole. The six regional colleges have a key role to play in providing the skills to grow our economy and in assisting government to deliver on the Programme for Government, and the Executive’s economic and recently launched innovation strategy.

“We face an immediate problem with the proposed cuts which will have a detrimental impact on the vital work of the six colleges. I look forward to this challenging new position”.
