FOUR new board members have been appointed to CITB-ConstructionSkills NI, the only remaining statutory training board in Northern Ireland.
The appointments take effect from June 1, 2013 for three years:
Maria Bradley will be appointed as an employee representative. She is the HR and Quality Manager in Gilbert Ash.
Manus O’Kane will also be appointed as an employee representative.
He is currently Marketing Manager at Deane Public Works Ltd, a civil engineering construction company.
Clare McKeown will be appointed as an educational representative.
She is currently a lecturer and the Course Director for the BSc Hons in Construction Engineering and Management programme in the University of Ulster.
She is involved in the training of construction under and post-graduate students in Northern Ireland. She has worked as a building surveyor in industry and has worked at Belfast Metropolitan College.
She has a BSc Hons in Building Surveying, Masters in construction law and PGC in HE Practice. She is currently studying for a PhD in Construction Procurement. She has had several research papers published.
Christine Boyle will be appointed as an employer representative. She has been Managing Director since 1997 with Lawell Roofing, a medium-sized company which has been working with a wide range of building contractors in the NI construction industry for more than 40 years.
Ms Boyle has been closely involved with the Women in Business NI Network for a number of years, including serving as the network’s chairperson.
She was awarded an MBE for her services to business in Northern Ireland in 2009.
