THE Arts Council of Northern Ireland has announced details of 14 new jobs aimed at young, unemployed people who want to work in the creative and cultural sector here.
The jobs have been created through the NI Creative Employment Programme, established by the Arts Council and managed by Creative & Culture Skills in conjunction with the Department for Employment and Learning, designed to cultivate talent and give fair access to job opportunities in the fast-growing creative sector.
The Arts Council said 12 employers have used the new programme to create 11 paid apprenticeships and three paid internships in areas such as technical theatre, music business, cultural heritage and live events.
Sara Graham, Nations Director, Creative & Cultural Skills, commented: “These are real jobs and a real investment in the young talent necessary to sustain our vibrant creative economy. “
