Jobs Boost For Tech Firm After £854K Grant

A LISBURN company is set to create over 60 new quality jobs.

Seven Technologies, which operates in the field of specialist Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Internet Protocol (IP) solutions has announced it is creating the high value positions in an expansion supported by Invest NI.

Invest NI has offered the company, which already employs 53 people, £854,000 of support for the new jobs.

The positions available will be in the areas of specialist engineering, manufacturing and administrative support.

CEO of Seven Technologies, Gavin Williamson said: “This expansion will enable us to tender for more and bigger contracts, to increase our portfolio of products and services and to widen our customer base.

“We aim to significantly increase our turnover over the next two years. That growth is thanks to Invest NI’s support, allowing us to quickly recruit new staff.”

Meanwhile, a recent event celebrated the work of the Cedar Foundation’s Vocational and Employability Service Programme.

Funded by the Department of Employment and Learning (DEL) and the European Social Fund (ESF), the programme aims to improve the employability of people with disabilities.

The Celebration of Achievement event recognised the achievements of its users and the continuing development of staff.

Speaking at the event, Employment and learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry said: “The programme provides participants with relevant training, support, assistance, advice and guidance that will enhance their future training and employment opportunities. I congratulate The Cedar Foundation and its partners across the private and public sectors for the vitally important work they provide.”
