The Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards Launch For 2023

27th March 2023

Applications have opened for entries to the 2023 Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards, which will again recognise the enormous talents and achievements of a wide range of groups AND individuals from all sections of business across Ireland.

The initiative honors and rewards the Best Places to Work in 2023 across Ireland. This year marks the 15th awards ceremony, which has evolved into one of the country’s most prestigious business initiatives, regularly attracting hundreds of entries.

2023 sees the launch of a new category ‘Best Sustainable Business Award’, which is open to any organisation that sets new standards in creating or refining a particular product, solution or business model, which holds the potential to decarbonise business, champions sustainability and inspires new ideas and positive change.

“Companies I speak to on a regular basis are determining sustainability goals, and identifying the metrics it will use to measure its achievements. They are setting ambitious targets for themselves and being creative in how they embed sustainability into virtually every facet of their business.” The Irish News Business Editor, Gary McDonald

There are ten key categories this year, each of which be split into small, medium and large.

The Main Categories

  • Best Place to Work
  • Team of the Year
  • Best Education, Trainee or Apprentice programme
  • Employer for the Future
  • Best Innovation and Leadership
  • Best Employee Development Programme

The Workplace and Employment Awards, which regularly attracts hundreds of entries, will culminate in a glittering presentation in Titanic Belfast on June 8th, hosted by comic Neil Delamere, who is best known for his hilariously quick-witted appearances on myriad panel shows, including his long-running tenure on the Blame game and his live tours.

Everyone who puts themselves forwards for the awards is recognising the importance of working closely with their staff at all levels, regardless of the size of the organisation, and how vital it is to have proper strategies in place for developing the huge talents which are out there in the field of employment. It is people who drive and add value to any organisation, and the 2023 awards will be a celebration of the exceptional standards they demonstrate in different aspects of economy.
