MORE and more people are subsidising their income by taking on a part-time, second job. A second job can provide the income to make ends meet, jump start an emergency savings account or help reduce or eliminate debt.
This could be evening or weekend work or even work you do from your own home. There are a number of things to consider when it comes to taking a part-time, second job, such as:
WHAT TYPE OF WORK COULD YOU SEE YOURSELF DOING?

WHAT TIME DO YOU HAVE FREE?
Decide in advance how many hours it is you are looking for and what time you can commit to a job. All employers will require an element of flexibility so it is worth bearing this in mind before agreeing to a second job.
CONSIDER YOUR OTHER COMMITMENTS
Will a second job impact onyour family life? Will it mean arranging extra childcare or getting business use insurance on your driving licence?
Ultimately a second job will need to be worthwhile financially or you could end up tired and over-stretched with not a lot to show for it.
