Lucas Love celebrates sixth year in business with 100% from RQIA inspection

Leading Nursing and Domiciliary Care Agency Lucas Love Healthcare has posted its healthiest profits to date and will top off their sixth year in business with an almost unheard of 100% score in their annual inspection from the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA).

Directors of the company, Sinead Polland and Susanne Ritchie, have invested in staff training, increasing their team and enhancing Lucas Love Healthcare’s service offering and this has paid off with a commendation from the RQIA – Northern Ireland’s independent health and social care regulator.

Profits are also up at the agency following a management buy out last year, which saw Directors Sinead Polland and Susanne Ritchie take over the running of the successful agency which provides temporary and permanent employment to nurses, care assistants and support workers right across the province.

“2013 was a tremendous year for Lucas Love Healthcare, with highlights for our team including launches of Access NI services and a dedicated e-Learning College as well the addition of two new team members and an extensive PR and marketing campaign following our takeover of the company,” Sinead Polland, Director and Registered Nurse Manager said.

“Our first year holding the reins saw us solidify Lucas Love Healthcare’s role as the recruitment provider of choice within the Northern Ireland care sector. Nurses, care assistants and support workers continue to work for us in an array of settings across the province and our bank of high quality staff increased by 24% in the final months of 2013.”

“As the healthcare industry becomes more about profit, turnover, and efficiency, it is important to always make our care workers and the patients they help our utmost priority,” Sinead added.

Director Susanne Ritchie, a Chartered Accountant has helped to grow a number of businesses in Northern Ireland over the past two decades and has now put her skills to excellent use at Lucas Love Healthcare.

“As an agency our nursing cover is the highest in Northern Ireland and saw a 33% increase in the first quarter of 2014. We strive to continue to grow Lucas Love Healthcare in our next year by maintaining our high standards of care for both our employees as well as those they care for,” said Susanne.

Commenting on the annual Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) Report, “We are delighted with our RQIA report results,” said Sinead. “We know that our standard of care is second to none, but having an independent body commend our company has given us all an extra boost to keep doing what we do best.”

“Plans for Lucas Love Healthcare’s sixth year in business include further development of our online training with exciting and innovative techniques required for care in modern settings as well as further growth of our team. We have recently hired our first apprentice, and will soon be launching a new division within the business, ‘Control your Care,’ which will allow service users to control and pay for their NHS funded care through our agency. “

In addition Lucas Love Healthcare will take on two charity initiatives in the coming months, helping to raise much needed awareness and funds for The Cedar Foundation, a charity working to build a better future for people with disabilities and the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service’s ‘Give Blood’ initiative in an effort to further increase the number of people giving blood for this vital service.
