ULSTER University Business School has announced the appointment of three new visiting professors.

Jackie Henry, Senior Partner, Deloitte NI; Sean Duffy, Head of Entrepreneurial Services, EY Ireland and Derek Kennedy, Programme Director, Strategic Investment Board, will assume their voluntary roles for a four year period.

Welcoming the new appointees Professor Marie McHugh in her last official task as Dean of Ulster University Business School explained: “The Ulster University Business School prides itself on providing education and development programmes that prepare our students for the realities and challenges of professional life.

“We place great emphasis on engaging with the business community and the practical contribution made by our Visiting Professors is invaluable in cementing this relationship.

“Sean, Jackie and Derek are leaders and influencers.” The Business School has a cohort of over 40 visiting professors representing a wide range of competencies and industry expertise.

Jackie Henry, Senior Partner, Deloitte NI, has been with the company for over 25 years and is a chartered accountant by profession.

She has already worked very closely with the Business School in the development of the first Level 6 Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA) in Northern Ireland, as part of the Deloitte BrightStart initiative to help attract and develop school leavers as industry ready consultants.

She said: “Ulster University Business School’s curriculum closely reflects the ever changing and complex business world preparing its students with relevant and appropriate professional skills. As a visiting professor I can help shape the School’s academic programmes to ensure that graduates’ qualifications reflect what the job market demands now and with planned expansion.”
