ORGANISATIONS and individuals that help support and mentor young people into careers in the creative industries were recently honoured at the first Northern Ireland Creative & Cultural Skills Awards.
The event, held at Belfast Metropolitan College’s Titanic Campus, celebrated those who have given young talent their first big break through training and in building confidence.
This included Arts and Business which offered a unique training programme for fundraisers, the Nerve Centre which works with the BFI to deliver training in film production, Big Telly Theatre and The Lyric Theatre which both provide opportunities for young people.
Sara Graham of Creative & Cultural Skills said: “We recognise that it’s been a difficult time in the arts but the creative industries is a valuable and important sector to the economy and it’s essential that we develop new talent and continue to build a vibrant industry.”
