The Department for Employment and Learning is calling on all prospective learners to sign up to a free Essential Skills course.
Essential Skills courses in numeracy, ICT and literacy can help not only with day-to-day family life and everyday tasks but also help with future career choices.
David Berrisford, a regional winner at the Essential Skills Learner of the Year Awards in March 2012 said: “I have gained two valuable Essential Skills qualifications to date and I am in the process of doing my ICT Level 2 this year. By the end of this academic year [2012], I should have all three – not bad after a three decade gap””
