South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is recruiting students for a fully funded intensive programme aimed at reskilling furloughed employees or those whose current roles may be at risk of redundancy.
The Skills Intervention Programme, funded by the Department for Economy, offers the opportunity for candidates to gain recognised qualifications aimed at maximising Microsoft Office skills for business. The 10-hour long courses, set to commence from November 25 until mid-February, are subject to specific eligibility criteria.
Business Services Consultant at SERC, Debbie Scott said: “Covid-19 has presented many challenges to the business community and it is vital those employees who have been furloughed or who are at risk of redundancy are supported.
She added: “This Skills Intervention Programme, delivered online by SERC, focuses on upskilling and reskilling in key areas of the Microsoft Office suite for business. It is a fantastic opportunity for someone to fast track C & G Level 2 qualifications in Using Spreadsheets, Presentation Software, Using Emails, Data Management Software and Word Processing – all of which are in demand for a role in administration or business.”
She concluded: “This fully-funded vocational training will help prepare candidates for the return to their current employer or facilitate a move to new employment – both options are necessary to rebuild the Northern Ireland economy.”
