Entries still sought for this year’s HR awards

16th February 2016

THERE is still time to enter this year’s CIPD Northern Ireland Awards.

HR professionals are being urged to enter the awards which celebrate excellence within the profession before the March 18 deadline.

The awards will be presented to teams, individuals and organisations across 10 categories and CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, said they highlight the quality of the work and innovation HR professionals are delivering across the private, public and voluntary sectors in Northern Ireland.

This year’s categories include: Consultant or Consultancy Team of the Year; HR Team of the Year; Best Employee Engagement Strategy; HR Director of the Year; Health and Wellbeing Award and Most Effective Organisational Learning and Development Strategy.

Lynn Carson, vice chair of CIPD NI, explained each category will be judged by a panel of highly regarded HR professionals.

She said: “I would urge individuals and employers, large and small, to enter. They are a great way for HR professionals here to get the recognition they deserve.”

The awards, with recruitment specialists Brightwater as the principal sponsor and nijobfinder as media partner, will be presented at a gala ceremony in Titanic Belfast on May 19. Entries can be made via the website cipdniawards.co.uk.

Meanwhile, 23 jobs are to be created at a Belfast based agricultural software business. Sixty-5 is a spin-out from Progressive Agriculture Solutions and a graduate of Invest NI’s Propel Programme.

Making the announcement during a visit to the company, Finance Minister Mervyn Storey said: “The creation of 23 high quality jobs is excellent news for the local economy and will generate an additional £792,000 in annual salaries.

“The total investment of £1.4m is a significant investment by this company and a real commitment to furthering its growth.”
