A NEW engineering company is to create over 30 jobs.
Blackrock Manufacturing Ltd will create 38 new jobs and has been set up in Coalisland by Pat O’Neill, the founder of equipment manufacturing company, Powerscreen.
Making the announcement, Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster revealed that the County Tyrone company had been established with support from Invest Northern Ireland’s Jobs Fund.
The Minister said: “County Tyrone has a strong manufacturing heritage and this new company adds to the region’s standing in this area.
“Blackrock Manufacturing will manufacture components that would otherwise have been sourced in China and Eastern Europe, therefore creating skilled engineering jobs in County Tyrone while building an export-focused business.
“The company also intends to develop innovative new products that will be marketed in Great Britain, Europe and the US and will provide opportunities for future growth.”
The new engineering company will initially make track frames and supply parts to manufacturers in the earthmoving and demolition markets, and will then develop its own line of excavator buckets and hitches.
Invest NI has offered a total of £229,000 of support for the jobs and for export marketing activity in Europe and the US.
Blackrock Manufacturing managing director, Conor Monaghan said: “This is an exciting new venture and one that is bringing much needed jobs to County Tyrone. We are confident that we can grow the company over the next few years and achieve significant export sales. Jobs Fund and marketing support from Invest NI will help us to establish the company quickly to take advantage of the opportunities that have been identified, particularly in the US.”
Meanwhile, in NIJobFinder today, James Leckey Design Ltd are recruiting for three new positions — a marketing manager, a marketing director and a marketing co-ordinator .
The Lisburn based manufacturer of rehabilitation equipment for children and adults with disabilities credits leading edge product development and growing export sales for their growth and increasing employment numbers.
The company exports 98% of its sales outside Northern Ireland and currently employs a staff of 110.
