BELFAST’S Shankill Job Assist Centre (JAC) marked its 10 year anniversary recently. Shankill JAC delivers two Department for Employment and Learning employment programmes, including the Local Employment Intermediary Service (LEMIS) and Promoting Employability in the Greater Shankill (PEGS) — a European Social Fund project.
DEL has invested over £12m in LEMIS since it began in April 2007. LEMIS, delivered by the Shankill Job Assist Centre, helps unemployed people within the local community overcome personal barriers that may be preventing them finding and retaining a job.
