Electronics Firm Launches Its 2014 Recruitment Drive

28th October 2013

NORTHERN Ireland company Schrader Electronics is offering local engineering graduates the chance to work with global leaders in the automotive industry.

Schrader Electronics, a leader in the electronics industry, has recruited a record 30 graduates on to its graduate development programme this year and has now launched next year’s recruitment drive with another 15 places available in September 2014.

Based in Antrim and Carrickfergus, the firm already employs over 1,000 people in Northern Ireland, a third of which are highly-skilled engineers with varying specialisms across the business.

As global market leader in the design and manufacturer of tyre pressure monitoring systems, Schrader’s innovative work environment attracts top engineering talent and the firm is quick to recognise its employees’ contribution to the company’s success.

Managing director Stephen Mc- Clelland said: “We know that, quite simply, Schrader would not be the progressive company it is today if it were not for the dedication of our talented workforce.

The future growth of the business relies firmly on the skills and knowledge of our employees.

“The calibre of our local engineers is widely recognised in the industry and at Schrader we are very fortunate to have some of the finest engineers in the province, if not the world, working with us.

“For us to remain a world leader, we need to keep strengthening that talent pool and our graduate programme helps us to do just that by developing our leading engineers of the future.

“Each year there has been a steady increase in the number of graduates employed by Schrader, with the 2013/14 intake of 30 new graduate recruits almost doubling that of previous years.

We have accepted 111 new engineers on to our graduate programme since its launch in 2007 and this year we had our highest demand for places yet indicating the programmeclearly has a reputation for providing rewarding career options.”

Ailsa McNeill, head of human resources at Schrader, said: “The graduate programme provides the opportunity for those just embarking on their career to learn from some of the best in the industry.

The practical training coupled with structured learning and mentoring helps to prepare our graduates for a rewarding career in a leading edge company and we look forward to the innovative ideas and enthusiasm we know they will bring to our business.”
