CONSTRUCTION students have witnessed first hand the development of a unique flagship urban redevelopment scheme in Belfast.
The SERC students, from the college’s Bangor campus, visited The Skainos Project in east Belfast as guests of developers Farrans Construction.
When completed, The Skainos Project will provide a shared space for community transformation and renewal featuring the UK’s biggest vertical garden.
The format of the day was designed to enhance student learning by giving them the opportunity to view a live site being built to the highest environmentally friendly standards with a host of environmentally sensitive innovations.
Students were also able to see sustainable construction methods in action and speak to the engineers working on the project.
