Healthcare company the Conway Group is currently recruiting staff following its announcement of a £2.5m expansion plan.
The business, with its dedicated programme of career development for staff, is recruiting for a range of positions including sisters/charge nurses; registered general and mental health nurses including newly qualified nurses; care assistants, and catering and domestic assistants.
The company believes the rolling training programmes within its seven care homes — located in Dunmurry, Kilkeel, Antrim, Magherafelt, Coleraine and Londonderry — ensure staff are always at the top of their game.
Wendy Megarrell, practice development nurse manager for Conway Group Healthcare said: “We employ professionals who are dedicated to offering support every step of the way.
“Our goal is to provide ongoing training, development and career opportunities which in turn produces highly competent staff members.
“One of the programmes we offer supports and develops newly qualified staff as they make the transition from trainee to registered nurse.
“With a structured preceptorship programme in place, we equip the newly registered nurse with the skills to function as a confident and competent practitioner.
“Person-centred, quality care that maintains dignity but which is delivered with compassion is paramount to Conway Group Healthcare.
The company ethos holds resident safety, the resident experience, clinical effectiveness at the core of its business.”
Sarah Caul, a newly appointed registered nurse currently undergoing the Preceptorship Programme in a Londonderry/Derry care home, said: “I have been supported throughout the last four months to undertake training and development which has enabled me to be more knowledgeable and competent in delivering quality care to our residents”.
The group has also invested in career development programmes which support registered nurses and care staff including senior care assistant development programme, registered nurse development programme and activity therapist support forum.
