Standing Stones Lodge, a new bed and breakfast and restaurant bordering Divis Mountain in Belfast is now welcoming visitors.
The B&B sits close to the entrance of the National Trust’s Divis and Black Mountain walking trails, which have experienced a significant increase in footfall since they opened to the public in 2005.
The £1.75m development has also also added 25 new jobs to the economy.
Owner and developer of Standing Stones Lodge, Paul McLarnon, said he was “delighted” to welcome guests to “this beautiful part of the country” almost three years after he began working on the ambitious project.
General manager, Harry McMahon, said: “Paul has every right to be proud of Standing Stones Lodge. He has created a first-class facility here on Divis.
“In the short time that we have been open our restaurant has already proved to be hugely popular with local people and I am very confident that we will quickly become a tourist destination.”
The main guesthouse has six bedrooms but the site also has 16 self-catering lodges and a 100-seater restaurant.
It’s understood that Mr McLarnon has plans to further develop the site.
