THREE dedicated lecturers from North West Regional College have volunteered their services this half term.
The staff, from the school of hospitality, tourism and sport, are doing work placements to refresh their skills and liaise with those in industry to ensure training provided in the college matches employer’s needs.
Chef lecturer John Crowe is joining the kitchen team at the five star Lough Erne resort, front of house and food service expert Jonathan Lyttle is working in Belfast’s luxury five star Merchant Hotel, while hospitality lecturer Maria Canning is going to Londonderry’s four star City Hotel.
Head of school, Karen McLaughlin said: “There’s no better way to ensure that our students are learning the skills employers require than having our own staff back in industry, working shifts with the staff our students aspire to work with in the future.”
