Belfast Met is hosting an Apprenticeship Careers Fair to highlight the opportunities available for those wishing to combine their education with employment.
The event takes place on March 10 at the college’s e3 campus and with over 35 employers in attendance, across a wide range of industry sectors, the focus on apprenticeship opportunities provides those with no previous industry experience the chance to explore the various career entry points available to them.
Apprenticeship opportunities on offer cross a wide variety of sectors such as IT, Construction, Civil Engineering, Financial Services, Business Administration and Hospitality, which will provide options for all to consider. Those who have already applied to apprenticeship programmes at Belfast Met can attend the event to explore the process of securing employment and get advice directly from one of its employer partners.
In addition to accessing information directly from employers, Belfast Met staff will be on hand to give advice about individual course requirements and general information such as the application process.
Bea Santos, an apprentice with law firm Allen & Overy attended the event last year, where she found her current employer when a member of staff came up and greeted her. She said: “The apprenticeship at Allen & Overy has been a great opportunity and experience. Every day I work with all of the marketing sub-departments. I have gained plenty of experience from the constant on the job training provided by all my team members. Belfast Met has also been of great assistance, helping me with my theory-based learning, which I apply to my job every day.”
The Apprenticeship Careers Fair runs from 12.30- 6.00pm at Belfast Met’s e3 Campus on Springfield Road. Free car parking is available onsite on the day, and parents or guardians are welcome to attend.
