ENTRY is now open for this year’s Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) Analytics Training Academy.
Now in its second year the programme aims to provide graduates with the skills and experience required to take up exciting new opportunities being created by PwC in data analytics, a key growth area in the information and communications (ICT) industry.
Targeting degree graduates from any discipline, the academy will offer an intensive eight-week training programme to 14 successful applicants.
Successful participants will gain an industry recognised qualification and a potential offer of employment with PwC. Paul Terrington, regional chairman of PwC in Northern Ireland, said: “Our inaugural Data Analytics Academy in 2014 was an outstanding great success.
“Every candidate completed the programme and all were offered jobs with PwC.
“As one of the region’s larg-est graduate employers we are constantly looking to recruit talent, particularly in data analytics where our clients world-wide are increasingly looking to PwC in Northern Ireland advice and expertise.
“This is an exceptional programme and we are delighted to be working with the department and Minister Farry in launching our second Data Analytics Academy.”
Speaking at the launch, the Minister for Employment and Learning, Stephen Farry said: “The academy model is an excellent example of the assured skills initiative to enhance the skills of unemployed graduates whilst providing skills that employers have identified as a requirement for the future economic growth.
“The results of the acade-my-style approach speak for themselves and I encourage any graduates seeking employment to consider a career with a prestigious company like PwC in the expanding local ICT sector.”
Applications to PwC’s Data Analytics Academy will close at 4pm on April 1, with the training programme for successful applicants starting on May 5.
