FASHION graduate Gordon Donaldson showcased his womenswear collection at the opening night of the recent Belfast Fashionweek.
The 22-year-old completed his BSc (Hons) Fashion Management degree course at Belfast Met in 2014 and since then has made a serious impression as a rising star in the fashion industry.
The talented designer was named Wedding Journal’s Young Designer of the Year 2012, as well as being a finalist in the 2013 and 2014 competitions, a finalist in the BEST Awards 2013, and having won a number of cash prizes for independent fashion boutiques.
He was also recognised by Belfast Met as a winner of the Belfast Met Trust charity scholarship which helped to develop his skills in two fashion internships and he made his Belfast Fashion week debut in March 2014 after winning the highly coveted Diet Coke design award in 2013.
Congratulating Gordon on his work, principal and chief executive of Belfast Metropolitan College, Marie-Thérèse McGivern, said: “We are absolutely thrilled at everything Gordon has achieved after completing the Bsc Hons Fashion Management degree.
“It is clear to see that he is a highly talented and passionate designer. We are delighted to have helped him pave the way to a successful career in the fashion industry and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
