Camlin has announced nearly 300 new jobs in Lisburn as it opens a new £28m factory.
The high-tech electrical manufacturer already employs around 300 people at its Ferguson Drive premises and produces engineering products for the electricity and rail industries. Nearly 100 of the new roles are already in place.
Invest NI, the economic development agency, has provided the firm with support including nearly £1m in research and development funding.
Alastair Hamilton, Invest NI chief, said the expansion was “an exciting chapter in the strategic growth of the business”.
Formerly known as Kelvatek, Camlin’s chief executive John Cunningham said: “This major investment is part of an ambitious and strategic growth plan deisgned to help us increase our global sales and market presence. Innovation through product development and training for our workforce has been a major focus for us as we work to position ourselves competitively to successfully enter new high value markets.”
