You are never going to be sure of what questions an interviewer will ask, but you can prepare for the most common questions just in case.
Here are five common interview questions and answers
Question 1: Tell me about yourself?
The interviewer is not wanting a 10 minute speech about how great you are, rather they want a short overview. Highlight your qualifications and achievements, outline your work experience and skills you possess which are relevant to the job.
Question 2: What do you know about the company?
The key here is to be prepared by researching the company in advance. Look at the employer’s website to get a feel of what they do, who their clients are and their competitors. Make notes on what you find and practice answering this question.
Question 3: What is your biggest strength?
Create a list of your skills, read the job specification and identify which are most relevant to the job. Pick out three core skills and think of examples to demonstrate your key strengths.
Question 4: What is your biggest weakness?
It can be hard to be critical of yourself. But, if handled correctly, it is an opportunity to show you are proactive at identifying areas of weakness and how you are working to overcome them.
Question 5: What is your greatest achievement?
This is the perfect opportunity to really impress the interviewer. Make sure you choose an achievement which relates to the job you are interviewing for. Remember to be factual and truthful.
