MJM Group, the marine fit-out giant, has announced the creation of 30 new jobs at its Newry headquarters before the end of the year.
The company carries out new builds, refurbishment and fit-out services for marine, commercial and private sectors. The recruitment will run across all these aspects of the business.
This latest development is part of an ongoing expansion with a new plan of office accommodation due to open later this year, the acquisition of Co Antrim firm Topglass and the group fitting out luxury cruise ship the Azamara Pursuit in Belfast
The family company is also celebrating 35 years in business.
CEO of MJM Group, Gary Annett, said: “We have a fantastic team of people working at MJM Group who do an amazing job, but as we continue to grow we need to expand our team.”
Founder and chairman of MJM Group, Brian McConville, stated: “We are a dynamic and agile group of businesses and we believe we offer our people something different compared to the traditional construction sector.”
MJM Group is part of the McConville group which also incorporates Mivan, Topglass and retail and commercial developments- currently employing around 500 people.
Mr McConville added: “Our marine based projects give many of our team the opportunity to travel all over the world, as well as locally, on projects such as the Azamara Pursuit currently being refitted in Belfast.”
The contract between cruise liners Royal Caribbean and Azamara Club and the specialist high-end fit-out company is believed to be worth around £50m.
Mr McConville said: “We have filled some posts in recent weeks, but we are particularly keen to add to our project teams with talent from across the construction sector.
“We will soon be recruiting in our other companies as Mivan is growing and we have exciting growth plans for Topglass.
“We believe it is an ideal time for ambitious, talented people to come join our team.”
Company founder Mr McConville’s son and daughter, Conleth and Naoimh, are also directors.
