STOP PRESSURE GETTING TO YOU
What it involves
Do you dread the Monday morning workload? Most people at one stage or another will suffer from stress in the work place but there are practical ways to manage it and even make it work for you.
Don’t try to do too much
Often we are our own harshest critic and put ourselves under undue pressure. Anxiety and self-doubt lead to ineffectiveness. Realise no one gets it right every time and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Work to the best of your ability.
Prioritise
Good organisation and time management are crucial to managing stress and coping with pressure. Set realistic weekly and daily targets, stay on top of paper work and keep your space tidy. Working to a to-do list will keep you on track and give a sense of accomplishment.
Take regular breaks
Planned breaks will help keep your brain focused and stop you getting distracted. Where possible try to get fresh air.
Learn to say no
Helping others is one thing but if it infringes on your own work load do not be afraid to say no.
Keep a healthy work/life balance
Often when we are stressed or under pressure the temptation is to cut ourselves off. Making plans with friends and family will keep you in a positive frame of mind. A healthy diet and exercise will keep energy levels high and prevent you from getting run down.
Talk about it
Letting off steam from time to time is necessary but do not dwell on negative experiences or short comings.
