150 STUDENTS from Belfast Metropolitan were given the opportunity to quiz a panel of MLAs on a number of pressing issues.
The question time was the latest in a series of ‘Let’s Talk Politics’ events jointly organised by the Northern Ireland Assembly Education Service and the Peace and Reconciliation Group.
The interactive event, hosted by Pamela Ballentine and attended by MLAs from Alliance, DUP, Sinn Fein, Independent Unionist, used audience response technology to conduct polls on questions relating to the event’s theme of building an economic and civic society beyond sectarianism.
During the debate the panel of MLAs fielded questions from students studying politics, journalism, media, social work and community development courses on a range of subjects including youth employment, sectarianism, political disengagement and cultural issues.
