CRAIGAVON will host a major Job Fair and Advice Forum next month.
Taking place in the Seagoe Hotel on Thursday, February 5 (10am-5pm) the free event is open to all and has been organised by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) in conjunction with Craigavon Borough Council.
Over 30 employers, including Almac, Omniplex Cinemas, Teleperformance and Fane Valley will be in attendance, as will a number or support and training organisations. The job fair will offer jobseekers employment opportunities on the day, careers guidance, advice on training and job search skills.
Speaking ahead of the event, Employment and Learning Minister Stephen Farry said: “This event brings employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof. The job fair has something for everyone and I would encourage anyone, whether in work, unemployed or simply considering their education and training options, to explore the services available on the day.”
A series of employer presentations from a number of organisations including Almac, Southern Health and Social Care Trust and BT will also take place at the event. The presentations will provide information on the type of jobs on offer, how to apply for current positions and the type of person the organisation looks for in a potential employee.
Kim Nesbitt from Almac, who will be recruiting at the event, said: “The Job Fair and Advice Forum gives us the opportunity to interact with potential applicants and allows our recruitment to be more effective. This event demonstrates that DEL, Craigavon Borough Council, local employers and training organisations are working in partnership to help jobseekers find the most appropriate route into employment.”
There will be a free shuttle bus available from Lurgan Jobs & Benefits office, Alexandra Crescent, Lurgan from 9.30am each hour and from Portadown Jobs & Benefits office, 140 Jervis Street, Portadown from 10am each hour.
